State Certified Contractors
Gold Coast offers continuing education packages with both classroom and online formats in English & Spanish.
This continuing education package contains all of the required courses needed to renew the following Florida contractor licenses:
- General Contractor (GC)
- Building Contractor (BC)
- Residential Contractor (RC)
- Roofing Contractor
- Air Conditioning (A/C)
- Plumbing Contractor

11 hours of board approved continuing education (16 hours for Dade Country contractors) is required every 2 years prior to the renewal period for both certified and registered contractors. The 2 year renewal cycle ends August 31st of EVEN numbered years (ex: 2022, 2024, etc).
In the state of Florida, Inspectors, Plan Reviewers and Building Officials must complete 14 hours of continuing education once every two years by November 30th of ODD numbered years (ex. 2019, 2021).
In the state of Florida, Home Inspectors are required to complete 14 hours of continuing education prior to the renewal periods that end on July 31 of even-numbered years (i.e. 2022, 2024, etc).
County Contractors
Gold Coast offers continuing education packages with both classroom and online formats in English & Spanish.
Complete 16 hour Package
Miami Dade County contractors must complete 16-hours of approved continuing education by September 30th every two years.
- Building and Building specialties licenses renew on even years. (2020, 2022, 2024, etc.)
- Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical licenses renew in odd years. (2021, 2023, 2025, etc.)
AllBroward County Specialty Contractors must complete 4-hours of approved Continuing Education byAugust 31st every 2 years based on the first letter of their last name.
- Last names that begin with the lettersA-K renew oneven years. (2020, 2022, 2024, etc.)
- Last names that begin with the lettersL-Z renew onodd years. (2021, 2023, 2025, etc.)
Palm Beach County contractors must complete 14-hours of approved continuing education by September 30th, 2021.
Individual Courses
Gold Coast also provides individual courses for contractors they only need a few specific hours

Addition Contractor License CE
This 14 hour course meets the requirements to renew a mold related service license and is completely online.
This 14-hour course is designed for applicants who are unable to provide a FICO-derived credit score of 660 or higher to meet the Board's financial stability requirement.
This course fully meets the CILB disciplinary requirement of "7 hours of live classroom CE with emphasis on FS489 & 61G4-" in a one day, 7 hour course.
